JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Chief Communications Officer, this position is responsible for the execution of creative projects involving graphic design, corporate branding, interior and exterior design, customer experience improvements, website design and user experience improvements. The position is responsible for multiple projects concurrently including but not limited to graphics services related to production of all publications, public relations and marketing promotional collateral both print and digital, web-based graphics, social media tools, audio visual presentations, signage, logos, photography/videography support and brand continuity. This position is also responsible for supporting work of a complex and confidential nature and for helping to support a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Develops graphic design projects and serves as JAXPORT's graphics liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Performs design and layout for print and electronic collateral, including fact sheets, brochures, advertisements, and related materials.


  1. Creates and administers brand guidelines and graphic projects to ensure internal and external consistency of corporate look and messaging.


  1. Provides strategic input and concept development for all organizational graphic projects. Participates in planning sessions to translate marketing goals and key messaging into creative visual assets such as maps, infographics, brochures, fact sheets and collateral.


  1. Serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day governance of JAXPORT's website, including its visual presentation, navigation, and content updates.


  1. Collaborates with IT to ensure completion of the annual website audit and timely remediation of any identified issues.


  1. Ensures newly uploaded website content complies with applicable ADA and web accessibility requirements, including appropriate alternative text for images.
  2. Regularly reviews website analytics and recommends site optimization strategies to improve navigation, usability and content performance.


  1. Assists in the maintenance and updating of JAXPORT's intranet and photo and video libraries. Responsible for maintaining designed collateral in JAXPORT's internal resource library.


  1. Serves as lead photographer and assists with videography of events to grow awareness and/or support of JAXPORT initiatives among its internal and external audiences.


  1. Manages JAXPORT's archived photo collection, including the organization, maintenance and retrieval of images.


  1. Updates and maintains all PowerPoint slides used by the sales/marketing team and senior staff members. Assists the sales team in creating PowerPoint presentations for their use in sales calls to grow business with current and prospective customers. Creates presentations for senior staff to increase awareness and support of JAXPORT amongst key stakeholders. Ensures consistency in approved corporate look and design of all PowerPoint presentations used by the organization.


  1. Provides solutions for project/workflow challenges to maximize the impact, usability, timeliness and value of each project.


  1. Serves as JAXPORT's internal design consultant for work produced by outside graphic design firms or vendors, providing creative direction and technical guidance and reviewing deliverables for quality, effectiveness and brand consistency.


14. Helps to conceptualize and create advertising, presentations, and creative strategy focused on potential and existing cargo customers.

15. Assists in the development of strategies and content to communicate JAXPORT's objectives to various constituencies through the organization's web-based and social media tools.

16. Prepares executive presentations and assists with internal communications as requested.

17. Assists in the development of strategies and content to communicate JAXPORT's goals and objectives to the public through JAXPORT's web-based and social media tools.

18. Conceptualizes and coordinates customer experience improvements including but not limited to, the creation and execution of interior/exterior design solutions and beautification of JAXPORT facilities, buildings and grounds.

19. Assists in the planning and execution of special events as directed.

20. As directed by Chief Communications Officer, serves on-call during crisis communications (e.g. disaster/hurricane response) and maintains flexibility in schedule as news/events may take place during non-traditional work hours.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, advertising or related graphics field required.

Experience:
  • With a degree, a minimum of five years' experience with graphics production and computer experience in a professional setting with Adobe Creative Suite is required.
  • At JAXPORT's discretion, 10 years of continuous current graphic experience can be substituted for a degree.

License/Certifications: N/A

Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of commercial printing, including four-color process printing, prepress, color management and print production workflows is required.
  • Must be familiar with graphics production, design, digital requirements and website layout.

Skills Required:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat, is required. Final Cut Pro preferred.
  • Experience in managing and publishing website content through WordPress or a similar content management system is required.
  • Working knowledge of website design, user experience principles and web accessibility standards, including WCAG, is required.
  • Ability to use website analytics to identify and recommend opportunities to improve content, navigation and the user experience is preferred.
  • Experience with digital asset management or organizing and maintaining digital media libraries is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities is required.
  • Must have ability to work under tight deadlines, work on multiple projects simultaneously and be attentive to details.
  • Must be able to think independently, work effectively with people at all levels of the organization and work without close supervision.
  • Photography, videography, and writing skills are preferred.

Travel: Some travel locally and between company locations.

Other Requirements:
  • Valid driver license is required and must be maintained during employment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) during employment.
