RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Imaging Procedures: Perform a variety of CT imaging procedures, including head, chest, abdomen, and extremities scans, to produce detailed images for diagnostic purposes.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain CT scanning equipment, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols. Troubleshoot technical issues as needed and collaborate with the maintenance team for equipment upgrades and repairs.
- Patient Preparation: Ensure patients are adequately prepared for CT scans, explaining procedures, answering questions, and addressing any concerns to ensure patient comfort and cooperation during the examination.
- Radiation Safety: Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and yourself. Monitor and maintain a safe environment within the CT scanning area.
- Image Quality Assurance: Evaluate the quality of CT images to ensure they meet diagnostic standards. Adjust imaging parameters as necessary to obtain the best possible images for accurate diagnosis.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, imaging procedures, and equipment maintenance. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and contribute to the overall patient care plan. Provide support and assistance during interventional procedures as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program with specialization in CT scanning.
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT.
- Valid state licensure as a radiologic technologist.
- Prior experience as a CT Technician is preferred.
