To educate students in biological, physical, and earth sciences by creating engaging lesson plans, conducting safe laboratory experiments, and using inquiry-based learning. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
-Instruction and Curriculum Development: Designing and delivering science lessons aligned with state and national standards (e.g., NGSS) for various topics like chemistry, biology, and physics.
-Laboratory Management and Safety: Overseeing lab experiments, demonstrating the use of scientific equipment, ensuring proper handling of chemicals, and maintaining a safe, organized, and supervised classroom environment.
-Assessment and Evaluation: Creating tests, quizzes, and practical exams to evaluate student understanding, while providing constructive feedback and tracking progress.
Student Support and Development: Providing extra help to struggling students, fostering curiosity, and guiding them in applying the scientific method.
-Classroom Management and Technology: Enforcing classroom policies, maintaining discipline, and integrating technology (software, hardware, simulations) to enhance the learning process.
-Collaboration and Communication: Participating in department meetings, collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, and maintaining regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
-Extracurricular Involvement: Chaperoning field trips, guiding student projects for science fairs, and leading after-school activities
