We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. The PMHNP will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and managing psychiatric disorders in patients struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric care, a passion for helping individuals on their path to recovery, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with therapists, counselors, and other medical professionals.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring efficacy and side effects.
- Provide psychotherapy and psychoeducation to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and coordinate care.
- Educate patients on medication adherence, mental health coping strategies, and lifestyle modifications.
- Stay updated on best practices, emerging treatments, and changes in mental health care regulations.
- Will be required to work some nights and weekends.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP).
- Current state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a PMHNP.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in psychiatric care preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.
- Experience with dual diagnosis treatment is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
