Job Description
Production Operator IV
Summary Description: Under minimum supervision, responsible for monitoring, maintaining and executing jobs on a high volume insert operator machine; operates multiple machines simultaneously.
Essential Job Functions:
• Receive printed work from the print shop using approved carts.
• Determine the account and enter the work into the insert machine computer.
• Use the assigned job ticket to ensure the correct codes are entered into DF Works.
• Determine the type of envelopes needed according to the assigned job ticket.
• Determine the BREs, brochures or any other client provided medium to be inserted with the work.
• Conduct quality check to ensure postage is applied correctly.
• Load completed work into USPS mail trays for disposition using approved stacking method.
• At the completion of each job, ensure quality check performed for accurate piece count prior to printing out funds report.
• Complete job ticket, attach funds report and submit to Team Lead for further disposition.
• Shrink wrap pallet for distribution to pre-sort facility
• Load completed pallets using pallet jack to the shipping dock.
• Break down boxes and dispose at the end of the shift using the recycle bins.
• Return unusable print to the recycle bins located on the production floor.
• Perform various tasks, as required Preventative Maintenance of equipment, as required
• Responsible for special handling of manual insert projects
Marginal Job Functions:
• Notify Team Lead of low stock inventory items. Identify non-conforming product and bad materials, and inform leadership
• Actively perform and monitor product for conformity based on Job Specific Work Instructions.
• Keep working area clean and organized, free of un-needed production components
• Fill out required operator documentation completely, neatly and accurately, including electronic documentation
• Participate in cross training Perform reporting responsibilities, as assigned Review Work Procedures for accuracy and report to leadership possess the ability to read and understand written documents as they pertain
• Manual aspect of assignment, including manual assembly and inspection for quality performance
• Follow all Offsite Services facility policies, including health & safety, building security, data security and harassment free work environment
• Follow all Offsite Services Procedure and Work Instructions Support the Quality Management System, including participating in the Corrective and Preventative Action process
Qualifications For Positions
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Must possess the ability to read and understand written documents as they pertain to the Quality Management System.
• Effective communication skills.
• Handles multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong administrative organization skills.
• Work experience in email and Microsoft Windows environment.
• Lift items weighing up to 50 pounds or maximum allowed by State Law, with or without accommodation.
• Stand for long periods of time with or without accommodation, to operate and maintain elevated machinery
Experience Qualifications
• Minimum 3 month customer service related experience preferred. 2 - 4 years' experience in a production environment required. 2 - 4 years' experience operating high speed continuous line, roll fed, B/W printers and/or inserting equipment required.
• Minimum 1 year knowledge and experience with fulfillment processes preferred ISO 9001 System Experience and LEAN Manufacturing environment experience preferred
• Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
The pay rate for this position is $18.00/hr; however, base pay rate offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered
