Position Summary

The Produce Manager oversees the store's fresh produce and floral operations. This role ensures a positive shopping experience by maintaining exceptional product quality, attractive merchandising, and outstanding customer service. The Produce Manager will oversee ordering, inventory control, pricing, labor, merchandising execution, and adherence to food safety standards while maintaining a fresh, clean, and visually appealing department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all daily Produce and Floral department operations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns promptly.
  • Hire, train, coach, and supervise department team members.
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines and regulations.
  • Maintain high standards for freshness, quality, rotation, and presentation.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate staff to maintain high performance and customer service standards.
  • Ensure proper receiving, handling, storage, and display of all products.
  • Monitor inventory levels and minimize shrink through proper ordering and rotation practices.
  • Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and country of origin labeling.
  • Analyze daily and weekly reports to identify opportunities and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure the department remains clean, safe, and sanitary at all times.
  • Coordinate with store leadership to support overall store operations and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty (MOD) as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Previous Produce department leadership experience
  • Floral operations experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of produce handling and inventory management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, coach performance, and build a positive culture
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, effective decisions
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time; bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature environments (coolers, freezers, kitchens)

Compensation
  • Annual Salary: $52,000 - $58,000
