Tampa General Hospital (TGH), a nationally ranked academic health system and one of the top transplant centers in the U.S., seeks a highly skilled Thoracic Surgeon to lead and expand our Ex-Vivo Lung Perfusion (EVLP) Program within the Lung Transplant Program. This role will oversee all clinical, operational, and research aspects of EVLP, ensuring optimal donor lung assessment, preservation, and reconditioning to maximize transplant opportunities and outcomes.

Under general supervision and following established policies, procedures and professional guidelines, delivers medical care to patients in area of specialty. Plans medical care, documents medical assessments, identifies, and refers situations that require intervention. Formulates and communicates goals and plans of care, assuring patient rights. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

• Provides patient care including patient evaluation, differential diagnosis, patient communication, and treatment.

• Timely Completion of clinical notes, consults, history and physical, and discharge summary.

• Supervise Advanced Practice Providers as assigned.

• Participates in Patient Safety Huddles.

• Follow Safety Protocols.

• Participates in Provider Change Management and Quality Initiatives.

• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree (Osteopathic Medicine)
  • Board Certified/Eligible
  • Unrestricted licensure to practice as a physician in the State of Florida. Member of TGH Medical Staff
