General Description
Tohopekaliga Water Authority (“Toho”) seeks candidates for an internship with the Office of the General Counsel. This internship provides law students with hands-on experience supporting in-house counsel on a variety of legal, regulatory, and operational matters impacting a public utility organization.
Essential Functions
1. Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and case law and provide analysis of application to Toho policies and procedures.
2. Document Drafting: Prepare and review legal documents, including developer agreements, procurement matters, correspondence, policy memos, and regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
3. Regulatory Support: Assist in monitoring legislative changes and regulatory updates affecting utilities and prepare summaries for legal or management teams.
4. Case & Inquiry Support: Answer internal inquiries, draft responses, and maintain organized legal files.

5. Administrative Tasks: Maintain up-to-date legal resources, manage case files, and assist with scheduling and meeting preparation.Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the candidates ability to perform successfully in this position will be considered.

Environmental factors include outdoor conditions; rugged terrain, slippery surfaces, varying weather, including, heat, cold, dry, wet weather. In addition, noise, darkness, brightness, vibrations, traffic, biological agents, chemicals, gas/ fumes, magnetic fields, or congested area. Environmental factors include indoor, flat surface, noise, sitting with occasionally walking and standing.
