Assist ESE teachers and other instructional staff with implementing students' IEP goals, accommodations, modifications, and instructional supports.
Provide individualized and small-group assistance to students as directed by the teacher.
Support students in accessing the general education curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
Reinforce academic skills and concepts presented by the classroom teacher.
Assist students with organization, time management, task completion, study skills, and transitions between activities and classes.
Provide appropriate behavioral support using strategies established by the teacher, IEP, behavior plan, and school procedures.
Encourage positive social interactions, appropriate classroom behavior, self-advocacy, and independence.
Assist students with communication and social-emotional needs as appropriate to their educational program.
Support students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, assemblies, field trips, testing, and other school activities when assigned.
Assist with classroom routines, preparation of instructional materials, and maintaining an orderly and safe learning environment.
Provide physical assistance and/or personal care when required by a student's educational needs and assigned by appropriate school personnel.
Monitor students in assigned areas and report concerns regarding academic progress, behavior, safety, or well-being to the appropriate staff member.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student records, educational information, disabilities, family information, and other sensitive matters.
Collect and record student information or data as directed by the ESE teacher or other qualified instructional personnel.
Assist with implementing classroom accommodations and supports during instruction and assessments.
Work collaboratively with ESE teachers, general education teachers, related-service personnel, administrators, and other school staff.
Promote respectful, inclusive, and supportive relationships with students.
Follow all district, school, state, and federal policies and procedures related to special education and student safety.
Participate in professional development and training related to ESE services, student support, behavior management, safety, and instructional practices.
Perform other duties as assigned by the ESE teacher or school administration.
