Responsibilities

This position provides assistance with HR systems, processes, policies, procedures, and services for the Housing HR satellite office.
  • Responsible for all personnel functions related to the appointment of assigned staff including initial hiring, updates, corrections, and terminations. Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of Personnel Action Forms, contracts, I-9's, background checks, and all related employment papers or actions required by the University and/or department. Maintain departmental personnel records for assigned areas. Assists in preparation for the University Housing Employee Orientation (NEO) for newly hired staff.
  • Responsible for recruiting functions for assigned areas; responsible for verifying all actives and certifications of payroll for staff, researching and correcting any discrepancies found on the actives and cost center reports. Reviews OMNI reports for completion of mandatory training; NEOs, Mental Health. Semi-annually checks/approves non-exempt FACET reports for staff in the assigned area.
  • Assists with processing Workers Compensation claims (maintaining contact with Environment Health & Safety), obtain authorization for medical treatment, prepares First Report of Injury and subsequent follow up material and maintains related files according to policy; serves as a primary point of contact for FMLA paperwork for University Housing employees.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
