JOB SUMMARY

The Environmental Programs Analyst supports shore-side environmental operations within Marine Operations by coordinating compliance activities, supporting vessel environmental programs, and ensuring adherence to applicable international and local environmental regulations. The role works cross-functionally with vessel and shore-based teams to monitor environmental performance, support audits, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assume personal responsibility for safety and NCLH's impact upon the environment.
  • Frequent travel to the vessels for training and support of the Environmental Programs onboard.
  • Conduct and/or support with internal and external ISM audit programs as needed, including timely and effective corrective actions.
  • Provide support to the Manager Environmental Operations during environmental emergency situations.
  • Monitor incidents and ensure follow up, provide trend and root cause analysis.
  • Review international and port state Environmental laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and assist in the development of company policies and procedures for compliance with applicable Environmental laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate onboard sampling for analytic purposes, as related to new build operations.
  • Assist with the coordination of ship's Federal, State & Local ISM-related environmental certificates to ensure compliance.
  • Support the review of internal operational trends to streamline and improve processes.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Environmental Science or Marine-related fields.

EXPERIENCE
  • Experience within the environmental, marine, regulatory fields, or shipboard preferred.
  • Relevant experience may supplement the minimum education requirements.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
  • Business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality.
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
  • Analytical to be able to "see" the complexities of procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Comprehensive data analysis abilities.
