Job Summary:

Jacksonville University (JU) seeks a strategic, data-driven, and collaborative leader to serve as Director of Integrated Giving within the Office of University Advancement. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engagement, this role provides vision and execution for JU's annual and leadership giving efforts.

The Director will lead the development and implementation of integrated fundraising strategies designed to build a strong culture of philanthropy across the institution and throughout the broader community. This individual will oversee signature giving campaigns, annual appeals, peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives, and advancement-related marketing efforts that drive donor acquisition, retention, leadership annual giving growth, and pipeline development for major gifts.

This position plays a critical role in strengthening JU's overall giving pipeline and achieving ambitious fundraising goals in support of the University's mission.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Vision & Integrated Giving Strategy
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual and leadership giving strategy aligned with institutional fundraising priorities and campaign goals.
    • Create and foster a culture of philanthropy across campus and within the Jacksonville community.
    • Establish and monitor measurable performance metrics, ensuring the achievement of revenue, participation, and donor retention goals.
    • Partner closely with University Advancement colleagues to strengthen the donor pipeline and strategically identify and qualify leadership giving prospects.

Signature Campaigns & Institutional Initiatives
    • Lead planning, execution, and assessment of JU's signature giving initiatives, including Dolphin Dash, Senior Class Gift, and Homecoming & Family Weekend fundraising.
    • Develop innovative, multi-channel strategies to grow participation and revenue for these programs.
    • Improve donor acquisition, retention, and revenue growth. A strong understanding of fundraising best practices is essential, including donor lifecycle management, pipeline development, solicitation strategy, and ethical fundraising practices within higher education or nonprofit environments.

      The Director must be an exceptional communicator and relationship builder, capable of crafting compelling donor-centric messaging that inspires philanthropic support while engaging effectively with academic leaders, volunteers, and donors. Demonstrated experience directly soliciting philanthropic gifts and managing leadership-level donor relationships is beneficial. This individual must exercise sound judgment and the capacity to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while meeting strict performance metrics and deadlines. Proficiency with CRM systems and fundraising analytics tools is required, along with a collaborative style that fosters accountability, innovation, and a culture of philanthropy across the institution.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience:
  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in higher education advancement, nonprofit fundraising, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading annual giving or integrated fundraising campaigns with measurable results.
  • Experience managing marketing and communications strategy within a fundraising context preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach.
  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
