What You'll Do

As a Tech B, you'll perform mid-level diagnostics and repairs to keep our fleet running safely and efficiently:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on engines, brakes, suspension, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Review and complete repairs identified in DVIRs and work orders
  • Use diagnostic software and onboard vehicle systems to troubleshoot issues
  • Follow factory service manuals to complete accurate repairs
  • Perform safety inspections and ensure compliance with company and OSHA standards
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and leadership on vehicle status and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain accurate records and complete documentation on time
  • Support and guide entry-level technicians and shop helpers
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience with heavy-duty or medium-duty trucks and equipment
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Suspension systems
    • Brake systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair software
  • Ability to complete jobs within standard repair times (SRTs) and estimate repair needs
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Team-oriented mindset with willingness to mentor junior staff
  • CDL Class B preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months)

Essential Job Functions

  • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure safe, efficient fleet operations
  • Review and complete repairs identified through DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports) and work orders
  • Communicate clearly with drivers and management regarding vehicle conditions and recommend preventive maintenance solutions
  • Accurately complete all work orders and required documentation in a timely manner
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Use onboard diagnostics and electronic systems to identify failure points and guide repairs
  • Perform routine and detailed safety inspections on vehicles and equipment
  • Complete repairs in accordance with factory service manuals and company standards
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to ethical work practices

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of:
    • Suspension systems (inspection, diagnosis, and repair)
    • Brake systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and the ability to interpret and apply service manual procedures
  • Ability to complete repairs within Standard Repair Times (SRTs) and accurately estimate labor and materials
  • Capable of supporting and guiding entry-level technicians and shop helpers
  • Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality workmanship
  • CDL Class B preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
