-Cleaning & Sanitation
Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the building
Sweep and mop hallways, classrooms, and common areas
Clean and sanitize bathrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors)
Dust surfaces, desks, and shelving in classrooms and offices
Clean windows, glass doors, and light fixtures
Sanitize high-touch areas (door handles, handrails, light switches)
-Floor & Surface Care
Strip and wax floors as needed
Spot-clean carpets and rugs
Polish or clean tile and vinyl flooring
Remove stains and debris from various surfaces
-Restroom Maintenance
Restock toilet paper, paper towels, and soap dispensers
Check and maintain urinals and toilets
Clean mirrors and sinks thoroughly
Mop and sanitize floors daily
-Common Areas
Clean cafeteria/lunch areas and remove food debris
Wipe down tables and chairs
Clean kitchen appliances (if applicable)
Tidy up multipurpose rooms and gymnasiums
-Building Security & Checks
Lock and unlock doors as scheduled
Turn off lights throughout the building
Check that windows and doors are secure
Report any maintenance issues or damage

Haul trash to dumpsters or collection areas
Break down cardboard and recyclables
Dispose of hazardous waste properly
-Equipment Maintenance
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor buffers, etc.)
Keep supplies organized and report low inventory
Clean and store equipment properly
-Other Duties
Set up/break down for events as needed
Assist with minor repairs or maintenance tasks
Follow all safety and health protocols
Report incidents or hazards to management
-Most custodial positions require flexibility and the ability to work independently during evening/night hours.
