Who We Are:
Since 2014, CT Mechanical has built its reputation on quality plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical contracting. Our focus is commercial construction, and we also service residential and commercial properties. We're a family-values company with offices in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa, and our Gainesville team proudly serves Alachua County and the surrounding North Central Florida communities.

The Opportunity:
Our Gainesville office is hiring a Commercial Journeyman Plumber. You'll install new plumbing systems, upgrade existing systems to meet current code, and handle alterations and installations in medium and large commercial facilities around the Gainesville area. Working closely with our Foremen and Superintendents, you'll learn each jobsite's specific requirements and help hit project goals safely and on schedule.

What You'll Do:
  • Carry projects from rough-in/safe-off all the way through commissioning
  • Collaborate with your crew to plan and meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets
  • Stay in clear, consistent communication with Foremen and Superintendents on plumbing requirements for each site
  • Deliver installations that show real craftsmanship and respect for the trade
  • Mentor Apprentices alongside our Foremen and Superintendents
  • Support material ordering, laydown organization, and efforts to reduce waste
  • Keep safety and efficiency at the center of every task

What You'll Bring:
  • A Journeyman's license (required); a Florida-issued license is preferred
  • 5+ years of commercial plumbing experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the Florida Plumbing Code
  • Familiarity with University of Florida plumbing specifications, a strong plus for work in the Gainesville area
  • OSHA 10 & 30 (preferred, and we'll get you certified on paid time if you don't have them)
  • NFPA 99 certification (also available through us on paid time)
  • A completed apprenticeship or formal training program (bonus)
  • Solid skills with plan reading, scaling, and layout
  • Know-how with the tools and techniques of the trade, including material handling, hand and power tools, and jobsite safety
  • Comfort working on your own or as part of a large crew
  • Strong time management and a clear grasp of jobsite order of operations
  • Willingness to take on overtime for weekends, shutdowns, and periods when we're staffing multiple projects

Our Culture:
Excellence, integrity, and great customer service drive everything we do at CT Mechanical. Our core values guide every job and every interaction: "Do what you say, Do what it takes, Do it with purpose, Do the right thing."
