Commercial Service Plumber

Comfort Temp HVAC and Plumbing | Jacksonville, FL Area

If flushometers, TMVs, and Schedule 80 drain systems don't intimidate you - they're just Tuesday - we want to talk. Comfort Temp is hiring a Commercial Service Plumber to take on complex commercial facilities across the Jacksonville area, and we're looking for someone who already thinks in terms of mechanical rooms, not water heaters under a sink.
Who We Are

Comfort Temp HVAC and Plumbing has been committed to providing reliable, high-quality mechanical and plumbing solutions since 1985. Built on integrity, craftsmanship, and accountability, we take pride in delivering dependable service to our commercial customers.

Our core values guide everything we do:
  • Do what it takes.
  • Do what you say.
  • Do it with purpose.
  • Do the right thing.

Our mission is simple: deliver professional service that keeps businesses operating safely and efficiently. If that sounds like how you already show up to work, keep reading.
The Job

This is a commercial-service-only role - no residential calls, no toilets-at-2am. You'll diagnose, repair, maintain, and install plumbing systems in large commercial facilities with real infrastructure behind them: grocery stores like Publix, retail locations, and other high-demand commercial buildings.

You'll spend your days troubleshooting independently in the field, working in mechanical rooms with multiple boilers and recirculating pumps, and handling the kind of commercial-grade fixtures and valves that require actual expertise - not guesswork.
What You'll Do

Commercial Service & Troubleshooting

You'll travel to commercial job sites as scheduled, diagnose plumbing issues using strong service logic, and repair and maintain systems to restore operation quickly and safely. You'll communicate findings and recommended repairs clearly to property managers and site contacts, and document every job with accurate service notes, photos, and details.

Commercial Water Systems

Copper water lines - installation, repair, modifications, tie-ins, and replacements. Hot and cold domestic water piping and service connections. Recirculation lines and circulation troubleshooting. Isolation and control points throughout the system.

Commercial Drain Systems

Schedule 80 drain piping, floor drains, air gap drains and indirect waste connections, runoff drains, and drain service work - clearing, diagnosing recurring issues, and identifying root causes rather than just clearing symptoms.

Commercial Fixtures, Valves, and Equipment

Flushometers, sensor valves, mixing valves and thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs), and the isolation and control valves common to commercial systems - all serviced with confidence, not trial and error.

Mechanical Rooms

You'll need to be genuinely comfortable here: multiple boilers, recirculating pumps, multiple system branches, tight access, and high-importance shutdown planning coordinated with site contacts.

Professional Standards

Reading and interpreting work orders, prints/specs, and applicable codes. Following safety standards, company procedures, and jobsite requirements. Keeping your service vehicle organized, your tools ready, and your parts inventory disciplined.
What You Bring
  • 3-5 years of commercial plumbing service experience (this isn't a fit for residential-only backgrounds)
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair commercial plumbing systems independently
  • Hands-on experience with flushometers and sensor valves
  • Hands-on experience with mixing valves and thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs)
  • Mechanical-room experience involving commercial boilers and recirculating pumps
  • Experience with copper water lines
  • Experience with Schedule 80 drain piping in applicable commercial settings
  • Experience with floor drains, air gap drains, and runoff drains
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • The ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and handle physical field work safely
  • A professional customer-facing presence - clean workmanship and respect for occupied facilities
  • Self-motivation and strong time management; you're comfortable working independently
