BCI Technologies is seeking a Controls / Instrumentation / PLC Field Technician to support water and wastewater facilities in Ft Myers. This role focuses on field service, instrumentation, troubleshooting, system calibration, and onsite support for PLC/SCADA control systems. The ideal candidate has strong electrical and instrumentation skills, enjoys hands-on problem solving, and can work independently in a fast-paced field environment.

Position Overview
This position performs corrective and preventive maintenance, system diagnostics, repairs, calibrations, and installations related to PLC control panels and a wide range of field instrumentation. Work includes travel to plant sites across the state, collaborating with operations and engineering teams, and ensuring reliable operation of control and monitoring systems.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and installations on PLC panels and control systems
  • Test and calibrate flow, level, and pressure instrumentation
  • Use schematics, blueprints, wire lists, and manuals to complete field work
  • Maintain documentation for installations, maintenance, calibrations, and system modifications
  • Support staff and management in resolving control system issues
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair SCADA systems, telemetry, instrumentation, communications, access control, security systems, CCTV, protective relays, meters, and backup power systems

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma, Associate Degree, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in AC/DC circuits, plant controls, and electrical safety
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
  • Experience with instrumentation, calibration tools, PLCs, pneumatic valves, motor controls, and basic electronics
  • Ability to record operating data and perform instrument calibrations using standard test equipment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office
  • Ability to work independently and with field/engineering teams
  • Willingness to work overtime/weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and travel statewide to job sites
